APCC Supports New Statewide Initiative: $100 Million Per Year Toward Conservation

November 21, 2025 - The Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC), along with more than 60 other nonprofits, environmental groups and organizations, has cast its lot with the Nature for Massachusetts Coalition in support of a new statewide initiative that would bring more than $100 million annually toward protecting and conserving Massachusetts’ natural spaces—without raising taxes.

This push is accompanied by a legislative campaign, but “if lawmakers don’t act, we’re ready to bring this issue directly to voters through a 2026 ballot question,” the initiative’s webpage states. The APCC gathered the third largest share of signatures in support of the ballot initiative of all coalition members, according to APCC Executive Director Andrew Gottlieb.
