Lawrence Eagle-Tribune: Letter: Yes on 6 will prioritize land preservation

To the editor:

I live on the edge of the Harold Parker State Forest. Every day when I look out the window I am thankful for the forward-thinking people who set aside land that I am still enjoying in 2026. It is my hope that the people of 2026 can be as forward-thinking as those in the past.

Open space, clean water, and access to nature is becoming increasingly scarce. That is why I support Question 6 on the Massachusetts ballot.

Question 6 allocates up to $100 million from taxes that are already collected on sporting goods to the preservation of land, water, and nature. This is only a tiny part of the state budget.
